The Botanical Gardens
The giant water-lily in the botanical garden of Pampelmousses. This public garden is among the oldest of its kind in the world. In the colonial period the British and French laid out botanical gardens in all their tropical possessions , in order to access plants for their commercial value and then to increase their yield. In this extraordinary garden you will find many different species of birds, insects, plants and beautiful flowers. Just note you must bring mosquito repellent as it is very humid.
