Underwater walk

The Underwater Walk takes place in Grand Baie, it costs around 800 rupees which is around £15, they normally ask for a deposit of 400 rupees. They will then take you on a 10 minute boat ride out to a bigger boat which has “Mauritius Underwater Walk Experience” written on the side of the boat which you will board with the help of the men in charge. They then explain everything to you thoroughly before putting what looks like big upside down fish bowls on your head with air tubes coming out of them. They then help you into the water very slowly, and tell you to follow the guide who is already under the water waiting for you. You will see live coral, big fish, little fish, green ones, yellow, black, blue, all sorts of fish it is truly a breath taking experience, at one point he throws bits of breadcrumbs around you and all the fish swarm around nibbling and sucking at the helmet and your legs which tickles. The whole 30minutes under the water there is another man filming and taking pictures of your whole experience which you can purchase for £25. Highly recommended.
